La historia detrás de esta cita

Buffett's third rule drew from his own post-graduation experience. In 1969, when he graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi, his future was 'just as elusive' as the graduates' before him. He was broke, drowning in overdue college loans, his car had died, he had to pay $300 in parking fines just to get his degree, and his draft lottery number was 8. Despite all of that — or perhaps because of it — he committed to using a good portion of his time to see the world. That decision, he believed, was one of the main reasons things turned out well for him. Travel had given him the material for songs, the perspective to appreciate different cultures, and the experiences that became the foundation of his entire artistic identity. The advice was characteristically Buffett: direct, unpretentious, and rooted in the belief that life should be experienced fully rather than optimized efficiently. His fourth and final rule — 'Be Santa Claus when you can' — completed the picture: see the world, and give back to it generously.
