To see clearly is poetry, prophecy and possibility — all in one.
John Seely Brown

La historia detrás de esta cita
Brown closed his speech with this quote from John Ruskin, calling it the principle he tries to live by in a world of extreme information overload. The full passage reads: 'The greatest thing a human soul ever does in this world is to see something and tell what it saw in a plain way. Hundreds of people can talk for one who can think but thousands can think for one who can see.' This was Brown's parting gift to the ASU graduates — a framework for standing out in the networked age. Throughout his speech, he had described the modern career as 'white water kayaking' where graduates must read currents and respond in real time. His final message was that the rarest and most valuable skill isn't talking, or even thinking, but truly seeing clearly and communicating that vision simply.
