I have never known anybody who got to the age of 70 or so and had all of the people love him or her that they wanted to have in that position, that ever felt like anything but a success.

La historia detrás de esta cita

Asked how to measure success, the 90-year-old Buffett gave what he called the ultimate answer. He'd known plenty of people who got very rich — their lives were not successes. He'd known people who were very famous — not successes either. But he had never met a single person who, at 65 or 70, had the genuine love of their children, spouse, and coworkers and felt like a failure. Conversely, he'd seen loads of people with more talent, money, and fame who lacked that love, and for them, everything felt hollow.
