Recognize your limitations, and sure enough, they're yours. The world will provide you with every imaginable obstacle, but the one most difficult to overcome will be the lack of faith in yourself.

L'histoire derrière cette citation

Khouri — the Academy Award-winning screenwriter of 'Thelma & Louise' — said one of the wisest things she learned in college came from a bathroom wall. The graffiti read: 'Recognize your limitations, and sure enough, they're yours.' She carried that insight for years. Her own story illustrated the cost of self-doubt. She didn't start writing until she was thirty, despite a 'sneaking suspicion that I could write.' She was afraid of failure, of not being good enough, of what people would think. 'And this brings me to my first big tip: DON'T WORRY ABOUT WHAT PEOPLE WILL THINK OF YOU, because first of all, they're not thinking about you. In all likelihood, they're worried about what you're thinking about them.'
