If you really want to shock the world, unleash your kindness.

Whether you think the world is out to hurt you or help you — you're right.

When you are leaping without a safety net, people become your safety net and you become theirs.

When you respect the law and the rights of all — because if you don't, who will? When your food is brought to you, when you thank the server — because if you don't, who will? When you pick up the litter that has missed the recycling bin — because if you don't, who will?

You're the most progressive, best-educated, least prejudiced, most open generation in American history.

Your challenge as a leader is to treat every single person with equal dignity and respect, and find ways to unlock everyone's talent.

Carry others deeply in your heart as you make your way in this world, and remember that you are being carried in others' hearts as well.

The eulogy virtues are the ones people will say about you when you're gone. Will they say you were a kind person? Did you love freely? Were you a loyal friend? Did you live a life of giving?

Our nation is at its best when we realize that we all do better when we all do better.

Love should be your North Star. Let it guide you. What does it mean to love people we don't know? It means letting go of fear and embracing our shared humanity.

Measure happiness not by what you do as work, but by what you give to others. It is the most important lesson and the deepest source of meaning I have found in life.

When you listen, when you really listen to people, when you listen as fiercely as you want to be heard, when you respect the idea that you are sharing the earth with other humans, when you lead with your nice foot forward, you'll win every time.
