इस उद्धरण के पीछे की कहानी
Bell pivots to what she calls the one concept she has determined about life: everything is gray. She's speaking to dramatic arts graduates, so she draws on their shared training. In acting, they've been taught that two-dimensional characters are at best boring and at worst irresponsible. They've learned you can't accurately play a villain until you find one thing about him that you love. On stage, they prioritize listening because the livelihood of the show depends on it. But in daily life, she observes, nuance gets lost — we stop looking for the one thing we love about each person, complicated characters get cast out, and we increasingly fail to listen to each other. Her challenge: carry what you learned in the rehearsal room into the real world. Choose complexity over simplicity. 'Sandy Meisner your life.'
