Historia tego cytatu
Patterson closes with a story from the San Francisco Chronicle about a female humpback whale entangled in a spider web of crab traps and lines — hundreds of pounds of traps around her tail, torso, and through her mouth. Volunteers worked for half a day with curved knives to free her. When she was finally loose, she didn't swim out to sea. She swam around her rescuers in joyous circles, then came back to each diver individually, nudging them gently as her way of thanking them. The rescuers said they would never be the same. Patterson uses this story to illustrate the deep reward of doing the right thing — a feeling that no amount of money or fame can replicate.
