Love

The opposite of love isn't hate. It isn't even indifference. It's fear.

Make your decisions in life based on love instead of fear. Let money be the byproduct of following your passion.

Your fulfillment in life will not come from how well you explore your freedom and keep your options open. Your fulfillment in life will come by how well you end your freedom. Your primary mission in life is to be really good at making commitments.

The highest joy is found in sending down roots. It's the things you chain yourself to that set you free.

It's not even a question of ethics or self-sacrifice or moral high ground, it's actually totally selfish. Being with people, doing for people, it's going to bring you joy. Unexpectedly, it just feels better.

Hold on to that desire for human connection. Don't let anyone scare you out of it.

Don't assume that exclusive always and everywhere means better. It may only mean lonelier. There will always be folks hard selling you the life of the few: the private schools, private planes, private islands, private life. They are trying to convince you that hell is other people. Don't believe it. We are far more frequently each other's shelter and correction, the antidote to solipsism, and so many windows on this world.

Providing care is every bit as important as providing cash.

Judge work by the quality of what they produce, not the number of hours they put in. Stand up for play — for the leisure that will renew and recharge you. Stand up for love. Stand up for each other.

The effect you have on others is the most valuable currency there is. Everything you gain in life will rot and fall apart, and all that will be left of you is what was in your heart.

We were all made to love. And I've found that we live our best lives, we are at our most successful, not simply because we're smarter than everyone else, or because we hustle harder. The key to success, the key to happiness, is opening your mind and your heart to love.

We're taught when we're young that the opposite of love is hate. But it's not. Hate is a byproduct. The opposite of love is fear. Fear is what blinds us. Fear is corrosive. Fear makes us hold back.
