Huffington shared that her second book was rejected by 37 publishers. By rejection 25, most people would have reconsidered their career. Instead, broke and depressed, she walked into a Barclays Bank on St. James Street in London and, armed with nothing but chutzpah, talked a banker named Ian Bell into giving her a loan despite having no assets. That loan kept her going for another 13 rejections — and then she got an acceptance. She still sends Ian Bell a Christmas card every year. The lesson, she said: the difference between success and failure is often just perseverance.
