The eulogy virtues are the ones people will say about you when you're gone. Will they say you were a kind person? Did you love freely? Were you a loyal friend? Did you live a life of giving?

这句语录背后的故事

Drawing from David Brooks's book 'The Road to Character,' Hochul distinguishes between résumé virtues — the achievements that make you successful in your career — and eulogy virtues — the things people will say about you when you're gone. Important as résumé virtues are, the last things people say about you won't be what was on your résumé. They'll talk about whether you were kind, whether you forgave people, whether you respected people you disagreed with. She points to Kevin Richardson, a member of the Exonerated Five sitting in the audience, as someone who embodies eulogy virtues — a man who endured a horrific experience yet still speaks with a heart full of gratitude.
