这句语录背后的故事
Spielberg turned personal, revealing that he was bullied as a kid for being Jewish. While it seemed tame compared to what his parents and grandparents faced, his family truly believed anti-Semitism was fading — and they were wrong. This realization compelled him to start the Shoah Foundation in 1994, which has since gathered video testimonies from over 53,000 Holocaust survivors across 63 countries. He acknowledged that humans are wired for tribalism — 'I don't have to tell a crowd of Red Sox fans that' — but argued that beyond rooting for the home team, tribalism has a much darker side. The burning question, he said, is how do we find the 'we'? His answer: by connecting, by believing we're members of the same tribe, and by feeling empathy for every soul — 'even Yalies.'
